American Embassy School visits Asha

The American Embassy School, New Delhi hosted Asha’s Associate Director, Freddy Martin and Student Ambassador, Ved Prakash on February 25, 2016. The school has been associated with Asha since the past many years now, and have been visiting Asha each year.

Freddy introduced the grade 8 students to the work of Asha, while Ved Prakash went on to describe how the Higher Education programme has impacted his life.

Following this, on February 26, 2016 the school’s team of 24 students and four teachers visited Asha’s community in Kusumpur Pahari slum colony.  As a part of their course work, the students were interested in learning about the life of the urban poor, the status of girls and women living in Delhi slums, and witnessed life in a slum first-hand.
