On Sunday, 27th July 2014, new university entrants and other college students from Asha slum communities accompanied by Dr Kiran Martin met Hon Mr LK Advani, senior leader, BJP Parliamentary Party. Dr Kiran was also accompanied by Ms Sweeta Jacob, Senior Programme Assistant, Asha Society.
Mr Advani congratulated new university entrants and gave his blessings to them. With great joy and enthusiasm, the students shared testimonies of their journey with Asha. Pankaj from Dr Ambedkar Basti slum colony who scored an aggregate of 89.5% marks in his high school leaving examination said, “Completing school education and now entering in to a Central University has become possible in my life only because of the continued support from Asha.”
The students were very delighted to be invited to Mr Advani’s residence. We express our heartfelt thanks for the support he has always extended to Asha’s work and look forward to many more opportunities of welcoming him in the years to come.
