Team St. Stephens Church volunteered at Asha

The Asha team and community at Seelampur slum colony were delighted to greet old friends from St. Stephens Church, Twickenham, UK, led by Ms Amanda Clegg. The team consisted of 14 people from the church and they spent about a week volunteering at the centre.

During their stay, the team enthralled the children of the centre by painting beautiful murals, playing educational games, conducting musical sessions as well as by narrating stories. The team also interacted with Community Health Volunteers, Women’s Association members and the students who are now attending college.

They were also thoroughly impressed by how Asha could transform the lives of the slum dwellers, especially in the new area which is a tiny slum situated under the massive metro line, and on the banks of river Yamuna.

We are glad to have the support of such wonderful and generous people. Thank you, team!
