Team from Monash University Volunteered at Asha

Team from Monash University Volunteered at Asha

The Asha team and community at Asha’s Anna Nagar slum colony were thrilled to greet friends from Monash University, Australia. The team consisting of 9 people volunteered for nearly a week at the community.

It was a matter of great joy as the team taught English to the Asha students. Simultaneously, they also organized learning and empowerment activities, conducted workshops on resume writing, brushed the students’ problem solving skills as well as orchestrated stress busting meditation classes.

Talking about their experiences of volunteering at Asha, the team said, “the women and kids at Anna Nagar are so inspiring and energetic. Also, seeing the impact that sustained support can achieve is unbelievable. It gives me immense satisfaction of knowing that, even for a very short while, but I contributed something for the better cause.”

It was wonderful to have you with us, team. Thank you for your continuous support!
