Asha Mentorship Programme

Launched on 31st March 2012, the Asha Mentorship Programme has been a huge success with many more professionals joining our team. This is a pioneering initiative of matching a college student from the slums with a professional in Delhi to provide advice, guidance and leadership as that student prepares to go forward on their academic and career journey.

They help in boosting the confidence level of our students. Through their mentors many of our students get an opportunity to meet other professionals and it gives them a good idea about work life. The mentors and mentees are matched according to the educational qualifications and work experience of the mentor and also the college course and aim of the mentee. Our students are also trained by their mentors in their respective fields. Amit from Kalkaji is now employed in a good company with the help of his mentor.

On 14 June, an Asha Mentorship Programme Event was held at the Australian High Commission. It
provided a platform for our students to meet some top Human Resource managers from select multinational companies. Our students received expert advice on such topics as interview skills and career selection and this was their first step into the competitive career market. It was a panel discussion and gave opportunity to our students to ask questions and to clarify any doubts.
