World Tuberculosis Day celebrated at Asha communities

The Asha slum communities celebrated World Tuberculosis Day (March 24, 2017) with a lot of enthusiasm to raise awareness about the epidemic disease as well as working towards the total eradication of the disease from slum communities.

The Women’s and Children’s Associations organised awareness drives and street plays in their communities, public places and hospitals. Asha centres across Delhi invited doctors and other officials from TB DOTS (directly observed treatment, short-course) centres and hospitals as chief guests to help make the celebration notable. As a goodwill gesture, the guests brought in some refreshments for the children.
