F1F9, a financial modeling firm with headquarters in the UK and Mazars, one of the world’s biggest accounting firms and a business partner of F1F9 has offered internship to eight students from Asha slums. The students will be divided into batches of four; three for F1F9 and one for Mazars and each batch will receive a month long internship at their respective firms.
Being multinational companies based in Delhi, the companies are ideally placed to be able to provide the students an insight into the corporate life. During the internship, the students will be attending English conversation workshops and group discussions on various topics. They will also be observing the work culture of the office which being from slums they will never have an opportunity for.
Prior to the launch of the is programme two groups of employees from the companies visited Asha slums to learn about the life of the students from the slums and the challenges they face on day to day basis. They visited two of Asha’s slum areas and met with the students and members of Asha’s women’s and children’s groups and engaged in highly interactive sessions with them.
Last year also, a similar programme was organised for eight students from Asha slum areas for a period of two months at F1F9 and Mazars. Asha would like to thank both F1F9 and Mazars for their continued support and wish them success for the two months long programme starting on Monday 11th June 2012.
