An idea, some brainstorming and a wonderful start to a culinary adventure of two amazing people, Amanda Clegg and Victoria Byrne.
A unique way to celebrate Asha’s 30th Anniversary through a cookbook which will showcase the Indian cuisine from the kitchens of Asha’s slum communities in Delhi. This cookbook will be sold through various platforms and the amount collected will be donated to Asha’s work in the slum communities.
Spices, vegetables, fish, meat everything was cooked during this gastronomic schedule that started in the month of November. The people who belong to the marginalised section of the society opened their hearts along with their kitchen. Everyone excited enough to share their little secrets which may have been passed on from generation to generation. Some cooked vegetarian, some non-vegetarian while some added on with mouth-watering desserts.
Two-weeks, fifteen slum communities, amazing stories behind the 100 recipes, tasted and jotted down by the enthusiastic duo Amanda and Victoria.
We take this opportunity to say a big Thank-you for this great endeavour. We know you both have worked very hard and are still working to put this “Cookbook” into its final frame. Our best wishes are always there to keep you both going.
