Asha’s 30th-year celebration was truly an amazing experience as we had with us our long-term supporters and friends from across the globe to celebrate the special occasion. To represent the Friends of Asha (USA) for the 30th year celebration, we were pleased to have our ardent supporter, Team River with us for a week.
We were delighted to have John, one of the members of the team perform on stage and dedicate a melodious song to mark 30 years on the final event on February 10.
The river team has been coming to Asha for the last five years and volunteering at Asha’s Jeewan Nagar slum community conducting various activities with the women, children and students of the slums that community members absolutely love. So, for this 30th-year celebration, they didn’t miss a chance to go back to the community and spend their time with the community members.
It was heart-warming to see our members practise their Asha value of gratitude by contributing and buying a small cake for the team to thank them for their five years of volunteering in Jeewan Nagar community.
We are grateful to Team River for their dedication and commitment towards Asha ‘s cause and we hope to celebrate many more milestones together.
