“Education means a lot in everyone’s life as it facilitates our knowledge and skills. It completely changes our personality and helps us remain optimistic”, shares Sagar who is from Asha’s Tigri slum community.
With such progressive thinking, Sagar excelled in his High School examination, scoring an exceptional 84.5%(A Grade).
Coming from a humble background, Sagar’s father works as a furniture painter and is the only earning member while his mother is a homemaker.
At the age of 10, Sagar joined Asha’s Bal Mandal (Children’s Association) and was an active participant of the association while growing up.
“Activities we did in Bal Mandal helped me to get aware of issues happening around us, that led to me being sensitive, widening my perspective’’, shares a proud Sagar.
Sagar thanks his Asha family for their support, guidance and motivation and gives the credit of his success to Asha.
He now wants to pursue his studies in Geography(Hons.) and aims to become an IAS (Indian Administrative Service) officer.
