Every year, Asha students get an opportunity to intern at Embassies, High Commissions and Multinational companies.
This year, four of the Asha students namely; Firoz, Vinny, Anjali and Mala interned at the British High Commission. In the four-week of their internship tenure, they learnt a lot and gained experience around their skilful colleagues. The internship helped them polish their MS Office skills, communication skills, event organising and presentation skills.
Moving on to the last day of their internship today, all of the four students prepared a presentation to give it in front of HE Sir Dominic Asquith and Mr Ben Stretton (Defence Section, British High Commission). It started with a warm and informal introduction of the students. All of them shared the experiences of their internship here. His Excellency Sir Dominic asked them the key takeaways from this internship and also praised their efforts to learn and excel. “I am fond of Asha and this amazing project that we have with them. We really enjoyed having you all here with us,” His Excellency Sir Dominic added. He also talked about Chandan (an Asha Graduate) who is scheduled to leave for his degree course in Imperial College, London this September and invited the interns to be at Chandan’s farewell party at his residence soon.
Looking at their confidence and willingness to learn and give their best at work, HE Excellency Sir Dominic wished them luck for their future ahead.
The programme ended with certificates distribution and happy faces.
We thank the British High Commission especially British High Commissioner HE Sir Dominic Asquith and Mr Ben Stretton for giving Asha students this amazing internship opportunity.
