Virtual Meet at Asha

Amidst the outbreak of COVID 19, Asha organised a Virtual Meet with Discovery Schools Academics Trust, the first of its kind on December 7, 2020. Every year, Discovery Schools Academics Trust visits ASHA in New Delhi and interact with Mahila Mandal, Bal Mandal, visit slums, organise exciting activities, teach English, paint the murals, and play with the children. But this year the team could not visit Delhi due to the pandemic and were hugely missed by one and all at Seelampur and Chanderpuri. Therefore it was decided to continue this interaction virtually.
The meet was attended by various schools under the trust from the UK, David Briggs, the leader of the team, Dr. Richard Hogben, Coordinator of Friends of Asha GB, and the high school and college students Asha team from Seelampur and Chanderpuri in New Delhi. It was not only a great way to network and interact virtually but also the DSAT team got an opportunity to hear an update on Asha’s emergency COVID-19 response.
The Virtual Meet started with the introduction and later the school children from the UK asked the queries regarding the school system in Delhi which were responded to by the team Asha. The meet also included the virtual tour of Asha’s Seelampur centre. The interaction took an emotional turn and brought nostalgia amongst all. Thank you Discovery Schools Academics Trust and the children for participating in the virtual meet and the continuous support.
During these last few months, the life of the slum dwellers has changed completely but Asha gave them new hope with the help of your support. If you would like to make a contribution to help us fight Covid19 in the Asha slum communities, please donate by clicking the link:
