Team Reservoir’s Asha Visit
We were delighted to have our long-time supporter, Reservoir Church from the US visit Asha in the month of February. The team consisted of Steve Watson, Senior pastor of Reservoir, his daughter Juliana and five eminent members of Doctors and specialists.
The team received a warm traditional welcome with garlands by the community members in Asha’s Chanderpuri slum community where they volunteered for a week, delighting the children with storytelling, playing games, and doing art projects. Members of Children’s association entertained the guests with their dance performances and speeches on their daily activities.
The team had the opportunity to spend time with Asha students and women, hearing about the powerful stories of change through Asha’s intervention. They also visited few homes in the community and were touched to experience hospitality from the slum dwellers and were inspired by their way of giving even with the limited resources they have.
The team also spent a day in Asha’s polyclinic to understand the healthcare model and different services provided by Asha to the slum dwellers.
We are grateful to Reservoir for their support and valuable contribution to the lives of the people living in poverty.
