A Mentor’s Mark: Dr. William Calhoun Leaves a Lasting Impression

Thursday marked Dr. William Calhoun’s last day at the Asha Polyclinic, and it was a deeply meaningful moment for the entire healthcare team.

Throughout his time at Asha, Dr. Calhoun shared his vast knowledge with dedication and humility. On his final day, he reviewed important topics with our nurse practitioners, including the spine, shoulder, pelvis, and knee joints—demonstrating their anatomy through models and practical examples. Together, they also discussed patient cases and learned about exercises suitable and unsuitable for various conditions.

Dr. Calhoun then guided the team through therapeutic exercises for patients with arthritis, pregnancy-related discomfort, osteoporosis, COPD etc. To ensure these lessons continue benefiting patients, the nurses recorded short video clips of the exercises for future use.

The day ended with a small celebration filled with gratitude and affection. The team presented him with a thank-you card and gifts, followed by a cake cutting to mark the occasion. Everyone shared their appreciation for his warmth, patience, and the knowledge he imparted—making this farewell both joyful and emotional.

Dr. Calhoun’s presence and mentorship have left an enduring mark on the Asha family, and we hope to welcome him back again soon.
