Asha bids farewell to Mark Westenra, First Secretary of New Zealand High Commission
We at Asha bid farewell to Mark Westenra, First Secretary of New Zealand High Commission, on Friday, 21st April. Mark, a dear and earnest supporter of Asha since 2013, has enthusiastically supported our Mentorship Programme. Despite his busy schedule, Mark made sure that he was personally involved in the holistic development of his mentees Aqhlaq and Rinki, who today are successful examples of his diligence. He also encouraged his friends and peers to participate and contribute towards the development of Asha’s slum communities in whatever way they could.
Dr Kiran Martin in her speech applauded Mark for his commitment towards the mentorship programme and called him a ‘’star mentor’’, who has set high standards for other mentors, with his mentees achieving 100 percent success rate in their respective careers.
Mark in his emotional speech shared, “the highlight of my time in India has been my association with Asha and the time spent mentoring the students was wonderful”. He thanked Dr Kiran for his association with Asha and praised the students for their energy, spirit and desire to do well. Teary eyed students shared some beautiful memories from their time with Mark.
Thank You Mark for making such a beautiful impression in the lives of these students. Wish you the very best!
