Asha Explores New Higher Education Partnerships in Australia – 2026

As part of Asha’s ongoing efforts to create global opportunities for students from underserved communities, Dr. Kiran Martin met with leading figures from Australia’s higher education sector during her visit to Australia.

Dr. Kiran had a meaningful interaction with Luke Sheehy, CEO of Universities Australia, the umbrella body representing all Australian universities. The discussion focused on expanding educational opportunities for Asha’s students and exploring ways Australian universities could support their aspirations for higher education.

She also met with Attila Brungs, Vice Chancellor of University of New South Wales, along with his team, to discuss potential collaboration opportunities. The conversations were constructive and forward-looking, with strong interest in building meaningful pathways for Asha’s students.

These engagements reflect a growing commitment towards creating international partnerships that can help young people from slum communities access wider educational opportunities and brighter futures.
