It was a proud moment for Asha as more than fifty students who have secured admission to the under graduate course in different colleges of the prestigious Delhi University this year gathered at the Asha Head Office to interact with Dr. Kiran and take her blessings in their journey forward.
The session began with a motivational talk by Freddy Martin, Associate Director, Asha. As the students stand at a critical juncture of their lives, Mr. Martin underscored the importance of staying happy and being positive in life’s journey ahead.

The excitement of the young students was palpable in the air as many of them braved the heavy rains to be a part of the gathering and meet Dr. Kiran and the Asha staff who have made it possible for these students to achieve their dream of attending college in spite of financial hurdles and inhospitable environment at the slums. Dr. Kiran addressed these students and gave them the much needed tips to lay their “first day in college” apprehensions to rest. She highlighted the significance of values such as respect towards teachers and elders and gratitude towards all who had helped them in turning their dreams into reality. Dr. Kiran also touched upon how important it is to maintain relationships with friends and well-wishers.

The session also saw the children coming forward to thank Dr. Kiran and express their gratitude to Asha. Many of them narrated their own stories, stories of challenges, hopes, ambitions and desires.
