It was an absolute delight to meet the Hon. Irish Ambassador, His Excellency Brian McElduff. Dr. Kiran, volunteer teams from Northern Ireland as well as Asha students were invited for a dinner at the Hon. Ambassador’s residence on November 03, 2016.
The Hon. Ambassador greeted the audience with a brief speech where he talked about how impressed he is with Asha’s work. Following this, Dr. Kiran talked about Asha’s long-standing association with Ireland, which dates back to almost two decades. She also shared that the Embassy of Ireland has been hosting Asha interns since 2012, and fortunately many of them have successfully landed with good jobs.
The Hon. Ambassador was extremely pleased to hear about the various activities of Friends of Asha (Ireland), particularly Asha’s relationship with the various Irish schools and colleges.
The evening ended with some musical performances by Wallace High School, Rainey Endowed School, and Methodist College, followed by a sumptuous dinner.
We thank His Excellency the Irish Ambassador, Deputy Ambassador and the Embassy of Ireland for such a wonderful evening. We look forward to hosting the hon’ble Ambassador at Asha soon.
Here are a few glimpses from the event…
