Royal Recognition: Valerie Alexander Honored for Humanitarian Work

Dunclug College has been supporting Asha since 2018, under the leadership of Valerie Alexander. The students, staff and parents have collectively raised funds for Asha. During COVID Valerie planned and organised the Dander to Delhi event, raising valuable funds in support of Asha. She has brought three teams to Delhi, with plans for a fourth, and has independently visited 4 times, with plans for a fifth. King Charles planned to host a Humanitarian reception, inviting his High Sheriff’s in each county to recommend an individual worthy of recognition for the work they are doing in the field of Humanitarian aid.

Recognized for her humanitarian efforts, Valerie was recommended to King Charles and invited to a special reception. At the Palace, she presented His Majesty with the Asha Hope & Spice Cookbook, sharing the inspiring stories behind it. King Charles graciously accepted the gift, joking that he hoped the dishes wouldn’t be too spicy for him! Valerie also spoke with Queen Camilla, who was deeply impressed by Dunclug College’s engagement with Asha.
