Sangeeta’s Recovery Through Asha’s Physiotherapy Care

Sangeeta’s Recovery Through Asha’s Physiotherapy Care

Sangeeta, a 35-year-old woman, has been living in Dr. Ambedkar’s slum colony for the past 12 years, after marrying and settling there with her husband, who works as a mechanic. To help support the family, Sangeeta began working in a garment factory, stitching clothes. However, the prolonged hours spent on the sewing machine caused her to experience increasing pain and numbness in her body. Over time, the discomfort spread from her arms to her elbows and shoulders, eventually leading to frozen shoulders.

The strain of managing both home responsibilities and her demanding job took a toll on Sangeeta’s health. Repetitive motions, poor posture, and long hours of sitting led to severe musculoskeletal pain in her back, neck, and shoulders, forcing her to stop working altogether. Her pain made even the simplest tasks difficult, severely limiting her mobility and range of motion. Since 2023, she has been receiving treatment at a government hospital in Delhi, but the monthly visits and lack of consistent care left her dissatisfied and frustrated with her progress.
When Asha’s field staff visited Sangeeta and learned about her condition, they immediately referred her to Asha’s Physiotherapy Clinic. For the past month, Sangeeta has been undergoing targeted physiotherapy, including hot and cold therapy, IFT (Interferential Therapy), and personalized exercises over ten days.

The results have been nothing short of remarkable. Sangeeta has experienced a significant improvement in her hand movements, and the pain has substantially decreased. She recalls a time when the pain was so severe that she couldn’t move her hand at all, but now, after just a few sessions, the pain has lessened, and she’s able to do daily tasks with ease. With Asha’s specialist help, Sangeeta now has renewed hope for the future.
