We are all very excited to share with you that this year, till date 110 Asha high school graduates have secured admission to the undergraduate courses in different colleges of the prestigious University of Delhi. Out of these 61 are girls. Delhi University being a centralised University receives lakhs of applications and therefore each student has to face cut-throat competition to secure admission. The first cut- off list released for admission for this year was around 99%.
The excitement of the new entrants is palpable in the air as many of them braved the scorching heat and heavy rains to get the admission done. We thank the Asha Ambassadors and the Asha to make it possible for these students to achieve their dream of attending college in spite of financial hurdles and inhospitable environment at the slums.
