On 16th January 2015, Mr Anil Sharma, MLA – R.K Puram, visited Asha headquarters to meet with Dr Kiran and leaders of women’s groups from Asha communities in South Delhi.
Together with the support of the women’s group, Mr Sharma has brought about significant developments in sanitation and hygiene, drinking water facilities, and other basic amenities for slum communities. The women were delighted to have their local representative spend time with them and took this opportunity to thank Mr Sharma for commitment towards betterment of slums in his area.
While addressing the gathering, Mr Sharma applauded the work that Dr Kiran and the Asha team has done over the past 26 years and assured his continued support towards Asha Programmes.
Dr Kiran spoke warm words of appreciation for Mr Sharma and remarked how much he has been able to achieve in his tenure of only a few months. She also encouraged the women to work in partnership with him in the future as well.
