Asha Welcomes Canadian Chargé d’Affaires Ms. Jennifer Daubeny to Mayapuri: A Deep Dive into Community Empowerment

On 11th July 2025, Asha had the honour of welcoming Ms. Jennifer Daubeny, Canada’s Chargé d’Affaires for India, along with two distinguished colleagues from the Canadian High Commission at Mayapuri slum community.

At the Asha Centre, Ms. Daubeny engaged in meaningful and heartfelt conversations—with our senior nurse practitioner, university students nurtured through Asha’s education program, empowered women leaders, and beloved elderly members of our Geriatric Care, Love and Lunch initiative. The stories of strength, perseverance, and dignity shared by the community left a lasting impression, offering a profound glimpse into Asha’s work and its far-reaching impact over the years.

Despite the inclement weather, the delegation ventured into the narrow lanes of the slum, visiting homes and interacting with families whose lives have been uplifted through Asha’s continued support. Their openness and warmth moved the guests deeply.

We are immensely grateful to Ms. Daubeny and the Canadian High Commission for taking the time to witness the heart of our work. We look forward to fostering and strengthening this meaningful partnership in the years to come.
