As our Internship Programme begins for this session, Asha’s University students are gearing up to make full use of this opportunity.
On February 20, 2016 a workshop was conducted for our university students by Surbhi Saimbi from Tech Mahindra and Asha’s Internship Coordinators, Fe Donaghue and Louise Wilson. The students were guided about the do’s and don’ts of interning in an organisation, and how they can make the most of this opportunity. The workshops were attended by around 150 students.

Later, during the last week of February and early March, the Internship Coordinators, Fe Donaghue and Louise Wilson along with volunteers Kimberley and Surbhi interviewed potential Asha students for Internships. In batches of ten, over 150 students were screened on the basis of their academic and extra-curricular scores, their aptitude and attitude, appearance, English, computers and problem solving skills.

The panel of interviewers will now be reviewing and shortlisting the students based on their overall performance. Starting June, the selected students will be placed in diplomatic missions and leading corporates. Often the first opportunity for students to be a part of a professional environment, the internships aim to provide the students with valuable work experience.
