Giving back to the community at a young age

Kids are too young to create changes, they say.

But not in this case.

This act of a 14-year-old child will inspire generosity in the hearts of everyone.

Avantika Mohan, a class 10 student, came to volunteer at Asha for a month. Her mission was to make her summer vacations productive and useful for those children in the slums who have never ever dreamt of summer camps.

Avantika conducted painting and sketches class. She also taught Science in a creative manner. During her tenure of 25 days at Asha, she built a bond with the Bal Mandal and also helped them with the communication skills and basic English grammar. Together, they made beautiful cards, posters and other creatives.

On the last day of her volunteering, children gave her a warm and emotional farewell. The affection and love that grew together with the children was evident.

Avantika has promised that she will come back soon to volunteer again.
