To promote goodness and serve the Asha slum communities, Megan Brown and Jessie Cassidy volunteered at Asha for more than a month. Beginning from the month of March, the duo volunteered at the Asha’s Communications Unit and Asha slums till the following month.
Megan, a long-time supporter and Asha Monthly Donor, is a skilled graphic designer who in her tenure helped the Asha Communications team in their literature layouts. Megan took workshops for the team and helped them understand the value of branding and recognition.
On the other side, Jessie tutored the Asha slum students in Asha’s Dr Ambedkar Basti to improve their English-speaking skills. She also helped the Asha Bal Mandal (Children’s Association) polish their painting, drawing and sketching skills.
“I will never be able to forget these beautiful moments I spent with these children in my life,” said Jessie. Megan, who visited the slum community for a few days, quoted, “Life for these slum children is really difficult. I feel proud that I try to support these deserving children to make their life good. I admire these young brains, who despite living in such agony, strive hard for their betterment.”
Thank you, Jessie and Megan, both of you are an inspiration to many others who seek to help transform the lives of the Asha slum communities.
We are looking forward to meeting many such volunteers in future and pray that their support and help these slum community members shape their life ahead well.
