We were delighted to have yet another group of talented and amazing 15 teachers and students from Ballymena Academy, Northern Ireland to volunteer at Asha’s Tigri slum community for a week’s time starting 25th October to 3rd of November.

Ballymena Academy has made a significant contribution to the Tigri community in the last few years and continues to do so each year.
This year the enthusiastic team made sure that the children and our students enjoyed every bit of this experience through various fun activities conducted by them. Asha’s children’s group enjoyed painting and learning art and craft. They also helped the team with mural painting. Each day new topics were given to the college students for discussion to help them gain knowledge on the discussed topics.

The icing on the cake for the children and the students was the cricket matches and other sports played along with the team. The team also conducted English classes with the college students.

The team was inspired seeing the challenging lives of the children in slums and were amazed at their willpower to make something out of their lives despite the limited opportunities and resources available to them. This made the team introspect and think about the privileges they often take for granted.

We thank the team for imparting skills to Asha’s children in such an interesting and fun way and hope that this has been an equally interesting and fun learning for them as well.
We look forward to yet another eventful visit from you!
