The Hon. Ambassador of Ireland, His Excellency Brian McElduff was kind to host Dr Kiran, Asha volunteers, Friends of Asha trustees and coordinators and the team to kickstart Asha’s 30th year anniversary at his residence.

HE Mr McElduff started the event with his welcoming remarks. He was quoted saying, “We have a great professional relationship with Asha. The Higher Education Programme is remarkable, especially the students are so impressive. I appreciate Dr Kiran and the whole team’s powerful work. We are glad to welcome Dr Kiran and her associates in this event tonight. The Embassy of Ireland is proud to be associated with Asha”. He then welcomed Dr Kiran Martin to say a few words.

Dr Kiran was quoted saying, “I thank each one of you for joining us today. We have had supporters from all over the world but the strong association that we have with the Embassy of Ireland and all other diplomatic missions is wonderful”. She also gave examples of Asha students who are working successfully in reputed companies and diplomatic missions throughout Delhi. She also thanked the old and new Asha supporters especially Methodist College Belfast for not just being a part of Asha’s anniversary celebration but also spreading joy through volunteering every year.

Asha student Sharanya shared her overwhelming journey with Asha. The event ended with students from Methodist College performing a song, followed by the closing remarks of Trustee of Friends of Asha Ireland, Gordon Wright.
