These pictures display, what women empowerment can do with collective effort. Trained to advocate for their rights, women’s association in Trilokpuri were adamant to convert an empty space, misused by the residents for dumping garbage. This empty space was even used for public urination, making it difficult for its residents to pass through this foul-smelling area.
The women’s association took the matter into their hands and approached the MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly) of their area demanding their intervention. The result is this beautiful, lush green park as shown in the pictures. Women’s association members also contributed through a plantation drive in the park. The authorities have also assigned a gardener to beautify and look after the park.
We are proud of the determination and courage these women have displayed. This goes on to prove, empower women, empower the whole community.
