After the recent Delhi elections, Mahila Mandals (Women’s Associations) from across the city invited the newly elected MLAs (Members of Legislative Assembly) to visit their slum colonies. The politicians heard about Asha’s work, met children from the Bal Mandal (Children’s Association), and spoke to university students.
These visits also served as a platform to discuss progress on health, water and sanitation, and to explore ways to address ongoing community concerns. Impressed by the work of the Mahila Mandals, the MLAs promised their full support and have also issued letters of appreciation in many areas.

Committed and enthusiastic, the Mahila Mandals continue to be important catalysts for change in their communities.
